Dear Kathleena, I read somewhere that Michelangelo walked by a piece of marble for years and let the marble speak to him. In fact, he walked by the piece of marble that he used to carve the statue of David for three years.
When I read that I wondered: were there marbles that wanted to be handled by the great artist? Did they compete for his attention? Were there marbles that wondered what it would be like if Michelangelo chose them?
Yesterday, I got a glimpse into this when I met you. Much like Michelangelo you spoke with your subject (my hair, not me). Being around you, I felt a true connection and appreciation for my hair. In your hands, your subject (hair) behaved, obeyed, and even gave up some of its secrets. I can easily see hair speaking to you and competing for your attention. You are an artist and a gift. Thank you for an amazing experience yesterday!
